How can we help?
The Charity of the Ancient Parish of Bisley can offer support to residents of the Ancient Parish (see map) in many ways, including the provision of grants or goods to help:
• those in need, where state support is not available, or where unexpected hardship has arisen
• the sick, suffering and those who are convalescing or in need of rest or of obtaining domestic help during illness
• those who are in hospital
• young people participating in work-related experience at home and abroad where this is of a charitable nature
Examples of giving
The charity has made grants to sick and elderly residents of the Ancient Parish. It has provided a disabled person with a microwave and freezer to ease food preparation and helped a family whose home had been flooded. The charity has also made grants towards funerals in cases where little or no other provision was available.
• Young people
The charity has been able to offer support to individuals in the Ancient Parish, and to members of formally established local youth organisations – such as community youth clubs, Guides, Scouts, church youth groups and sports clubs – enabling them to participate in a range of activities and voluntary projects. The charity has also made grants towards expenses incurred during sports training.
The charity has supported various groups in the Ancient Parish, including schools, youth work and a club for elderly residents.
